Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, which is intended to stop the so-called e-mail spoofing where an email message is sent from one e-mail address, but to look as being sent from another, typically with the idea to scam the recipient someway. When SPF protection is activated for a domain, a special record is created for it in the Domain Name System and all DNS servers worldwide get it. The record contains all mail servers that are allowed to send valid messages from an address under the domain. When an email is sent, the first DNS server it goes to checks the SPF record and if its sending server is permitted, the message is sent to the targeted receiver. In case, however, the sending server doesn't exist in the SPF record for the specified domain, the e-mail message won't be forwarded and it will be removed. When you use this service, it will stop third parties from sending spam messages that appear to have been sent by you.

SPF Protection in Hosting

SPF protection can be enabled for each domain hosted in a hosting account on our cloud platform with only a couple of mouse-clicks. The option is accessible in the Emails section of our innovative Hepsia Control Panel and what is needed to use it is to pick one of your domains from the drop-down list and enter the hostnames along with the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the mail servers that will be permitted to send emails from your email addresses. As an additional option you may also restrict the emails to be sent from your domain only if it includes our MX records, i.e. when our servers manage the email addresses for it, not some third-party supplier. This option will provide you with the best standard of safety, but it's not applicable when only your website is on our servers while the e-mail addresses for the domain name are taken care of in a different place. Regardless, our SPF protection service will keep your emails secure from being used for spam and scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

The SPF protection function is featured with all of the semi-dedicated servers, so when you host your domains in an account on our cloud web hosting platform, you're able to use this particular service easily for any of your domains. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with the semi-dedicated accounts, has a rather intuitive interface, therefore you will not need to be proficient in the use of computers in order to protected your emails. You will only have to type the hostname and the IP address of each mail server that you would like to be permitted to send e-mails from your addresses and shortly after that the updated record will be activated for the domain that you have selected. As a further option, we'll also allow you to control your outgoing e-mail messages and secure your mailboxes even better by allowing e-mail messages to be sent only if the domain involved has our MX records i.e. the e-mail messages for the domain have to be taken care of here and not by a different supplier. In this way you'll have even better control and there will not be any chances for any person to forge your e-mail addresses for malicious intentions.
